I believe that life itself is a creative journey.

Through my paintings, I invite the viewer to pause, reconnect with curiosity, and experience the world through a quieter, more imaginative lens.

Working in a style I describe as Contemporary Atmospheric Realism, I create original oil paintings where realism and expressive abstraction exist side by side. Rather than recreating nature exactly as it appears, I paint the emotional experience of a place—where memory, dreams and imagination gently blend together, inviting the viewer into a world that feels both familiar and slightly beyond reality.

At the heart of my work is what I call The Light—not sunlight, nor a religious symbol, but the quiet life energy I experience when I enter a state of creative flow. It is the moment when intuition gently takes over, control gives way to curiosity, and each painting begins to reveal itself. The artist name Annikaprana reflects this philosophy, inspired by the Sanskrit word Prana, meaning life force.

Every subject I paint carries a personal meaning. I return again and again to animals because I am drawn to their authenticity, quiet presence and timeless beauty. Flowers have always been a source of joy and inspiration in my life. Circles and spheres appear throughout my work because I love their softness and the quiet sense of harmony they bring. The dreamlike landscapes surrounding them are inspired by the inner worlds I experience in dreams and meditation, where imagination often feels just as vivid as the visible world.

Each painting begins with a spark of inspiration—a photograph, a vision, or a composition I've created myself. I build the surface through abstract collage, expressive texture and spontaneous mark-making, allowing the composition to evolve layer by layer before realistic forms gradually emerge in oil paint. Each painting develops intuitively, gradually finding its own atmosphere, rhythm and story.

My hope is that my paintings offer a moment of stillness—a quiet invitation to pause, look a little closer, and perhaps discover something that has been there all along. If my work encourages someone to reconnect with their own creativity, embrace curiosity, or consciously choose a life that feels more authentic, then each painting has already fulfilled its purpose.
