Some paintings begin as an exercise and end up becoming something more.

This rooster came out of a lesson exploring directional brushwork and a more expressive, impressionistic approach — painting on black canvas, letting texture and colour do the work rather than detail. The technique was new to me, the subject took over, and the result has lived on our wall at home ever since.

An experimental study exploring colour, texture and a more expressive approach to painting. This piece remains part of my personal collection and is not available as an original, but is available as a fine art print.
